Family First Sunday
The first Sunday of every month is Family First Sunday. On these days, families are encouraged to sit together in the worship service. The whole family: preschoolers, kids, teens, parents, and grandparents can join together in praise and the word. Nursery care is available for children ages 0-3. Children’s bulletins are available and include puzzles that correlate with the Pastor’s sermon. Children can sing worship with their families and during the sermon time, beat the wiggles doing their puzzle bulletin. Remember to bring your completed bulletin back the next week to earn a club coin!
The nursery is open for children ages 0-3 on Sundays from 9:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 p.m. There is a nursing mothers area available. We have a well-child nursery, so please refrain from bring your children if they have been sick or had a fever within the past 24 hours. All of our caregivers are background checked and approved by the Nursery Director.
Sunday School is a special time where people study the Bible in small groups. For children, groups are broken down by age/grade. For adults, classes can be formed by phases of life or by study topics. Our children’s Sunday School curriculum is distributed by the Church of the Nazarene and is focused on the Bible. Infants and 2’s & 3’s meet in the Nursery. All other classes meet in the Family Life Center: K Club (Pre-K and Kindergarten) meet in room 206, 1st-3rd grade in room 207 and 4th-5th grade in room 208. Parents are encouraged to attend Sunday School as well. There are many adult classes available. I’d love to help you find the right class for you!
Karcher’s Worship Service is at 10:45 on Sunday mornings. The adult service is in the Sanctuary. The children’s service is in the Kid's Clubhouse. Children ages 3 (if potty trained)-12 participate in a service that is geared for the children. We have music, prayer, and offering together, then separate into two groups for the sermon. Our music is energetic and our sermon includes hands-on activities for the children to experience the Bible stories and concepts.
Children's Library and Club Coins
Our Children’s Library is open from 10:20-10:40 on Sunday mornings. Kids can check out books to take home. Parents can read books to their kids, older siblings can read them to younger siblings, or kids can read them on their own to earn a club coin. When the book is returned to the library, each child who participated in reading the book receives a club coin.
There are several other ways for kids to earn club coins including memorizing bible verses, completing monthly character challenges, bringing friends to church and having perfect attendance. When coins are awarded they become the child’s responsibility to keep, so be careful not to lose your coins!
Club coins can be used to purchase fun prizes that are in stock in the Library!
Memory Verse List 2017-2018
Bible Quizzing is a program designed to get kids excited about studying and memorizing scripture. The children’s quiz team practices on Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m. during the school year and competes with other local church teams in three annual Saturday quiz meets (usually in November, January, and March). Each season, they study one book of the Bible, chapter by chapter, studying for comprehension of the stories, and memorizing a list of chosen verses word for word. At the meets, they answer multiple choice questions about the chapters they’ve been studying and can earn ribbons, medals, and trophies for their accomplishments. Children’s quizzing is for grades 1-5. Teen quizzing is also available for grades 6-12.
